Covering 6,791 acres, Squam is the second-largest lake located entirely in New Hampshire and is where the 1981 movie On Golden Pond was filmed. Board a canopied pontoon boat and sail off on a fascinating and picturesque 10-minute cruise and learn about the natural forces that created these lakes, the wildlife that makes them so special and the people who have enjoyed these lakes for over 1,000 years.
Well known as one of the best fall foliage-viewing areas in the country, the Kancamagus Highway is now designated an American Scenic Byway for its rich history, aesthetic beauty and culture. The Kanc takes you to an elevation of just under 3,000 feet at its highest point at Kancamagus Pass. There will be time for a photo op along the way.
Arrive in North Conway and have lunch on your own. After lunch, board the Conway Scenic Train. Enjoy an old-fashioned railroading experience as they journey on historic rail routes in vintage passenger cars, most of which are from the 1920’s.
