    The 1000 Islands is a sightseer’s paradise and a popular destination for those looking for an authentic outdoor vacation. Located along the peaceful border between northern New York State and southeastern Ontario, the 1000 Islands is a region of endless shorelines, rich history and unique culture. Of the 1,864 islands comprising the spectacular 1000 Island Region, many of the most amazing islands can be found in, and surrounding, Alexandria Bay.

    Transportation is self-arranged to Alexandria Bay, NY. Mileage and timing will depend on your departure city. Add rest and meal stops. Suggestions can be given.

    Package prices will be dependent on travel dates selected. Cruise times will be dependent on
    dates of travel; the schedule is limited in early May and late October, and weather dependent.
    Boldt Castle opens for tours from May 12–Oct 21, 2018 and May 11–October 20, 2019
    Capt. Thomson rates are the lowest May 4–24 and Sept 4-Oct 14, 2018 and 2019.
    Shoulder season is weekday during May 29-June 21. June 22-Sept 3 is high season.
    Rates are also dependent on room type: castle view and non-castle view.

  • Capt. Thomson’s Resort

    Hotel Option 1: This 68-room motel is located in downtown Alexandria Bay directly across from Boldt Castle on Heart Island. The property is adjacent to the main shipping channel of the St. Lawrence Seaway, and provides the perfect opportunity to see a variety of boats pass by. Each guest will receive a bottle of the legendary “1000 Islands Dressing”. This is where this famous salad dressing originated.
    The hotel is two stories with no elevator, guests should request first floor rooms if needed.

    Hotel Option 2:  Located in Alexandria Bay, on the waterfront, across the harbor from Uncle Sam’s Boat Tours. Property offers breathtaking views, intimate hideaways and a variety of recreational activities.

    This cruise to Singer Castle is 3¼ hours long. There is a concession stand on board for lunch, snacks on own.

    At Singer Castle, you will experience a 45-minute guided tour, including four floors of the Castle featuring the Great Hall, Library, Dining Room, Breakfast Room, Terrace, Drawing Room, Loggia, Wicker Room, Bedrooms, Guest Rooms and 4th floor Dormitory.

  • Thousand Islands Winery

    Tour and tasting. The winery is housed in the original 1923 Sears & Roebuck barn. On your tour, staff will share info on their award winning wines, history of the property and keep you amused with accounts from yesteryear, right up to today. Learn the wine making process from growing to harvest, bottling to tasting, & everything in between. Six tastings included.

  • Remington Art Museum

    An historic mansion built in 1810, where Remington did not live, but spent much time here with the owner who was a friend. See original artifacts from Frederic Remington’s life, sculptures, paintings and personal possessions.
